A new Director for CFAP
We are sad to announce that Professor Lord John Eatwell retired on 30 September after many years as the Centre's Director. Professor Christoph Loch, Director of Cambridge Judge Business School, expressed his gratitude "for all the great things he has done for the School, as professor as well as as director of CERF/CFAP". Lord Eatwell remains President of Queens' College, Cambridge.

The Centre's new Director will be Professor Bart Lambrecht, currently at Lancaster University Management School.

Professor Kern Alexander to give testimony before the House of Lords
Kern Alexander gave evidence on 9 October 2012 before the House of Lords' Committee on the proposals for European Banking Union.

Basel III implementation and developing countries
Kern Alexander was invited by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development to speak on 'Basel III Implementation and Developing Countries' at UNCTAD's annual multi-year meeting in Geneva on 23 February.

Regulating bankers' bonuses'
Professor Kern Alexander presented his report on the UK's regulation of banker's bonuses to the European Parliament on 30 January 2012. In the report, he argues for amending the EU Capital Requirements Directive's (CRD III) prescriptive approach for regulating bankers' remuneration and for a more flexible implementation approach for EU states.

Professor Alexander is a Senior Research Associate at CFAP and was appointed to the Chair for Law and Finance at the University of Zurich in 2009.
